How sad, how utterly heartbreaking, that something as beautiful as love is forced to hide its face from those whose hearts know only fear and hatred. One day we will all stand in the sun.

Saying goodbye can be more than a simple farewell. It may be saying goodbye to something you thought you had for a fleeting moment before it was taken away.
The figure’s conflicted expression shows them remembering, practically tasting, the ephemeral joy those few moments brought, whilst simultaneously falling into the hollowness of misery as it is ripped away.
